Another frame (cropped wide), from last month’s wander down to Tooradin & Clyde. I’ll admit with this shot I have removed the occasional white post (there’s a ditch on the other side of the road).

The low cloud was rolling in, and with it light drizzle (which later turned to rain). The scene felt as cold as it looks.

Time Will Win

On a trip to Mallacoota a few years ago, I came across this old boat house on a dirt road, far from the hoards of tourists that frequent this area at Christmas.

The timber is rotten, palings fallen away and the structure leaning to the road. Perfect subject.

A little further along the road is another boat house. It was used for a boat hire business many years ago. One boat remains out front, holed and allowing nature to take over. You can see that one over at Redbubble.

Continuing with the boating theme, here’s another shot. This time, coming back in to port, the boat off the starboard bow is a friendly, not a Klingon.

This was a very deliberate shot, as the owners of the friendly vessel are friends of the vessel I was on. I was happy with the composition, but it wasn’t until later (opened up large), that the true detail in the shot came out. Most of the first comments were “wow, look at the reflections.”

I’ve often been skeptical about the image quality of iPhones when blown up. Yep, there are noise issues and a little oversaturation, but it’s a far cry better than some compacts.

Cold Beach - Warm Day

I struggle to imagine sun soaked beaches, the smell of sunscreen and hot sand in locations that are covered in snow in the winter months. I guess temperature isn’t everything.

For the metric inclined, mid to high 20’s at about 80% relative humidity. Thong weather.
